How do I even begin to summarize the experience that was the Lady Gaga concert?
WHAT a weekend and memorable experience! This was Jeremy's birthday weekend (!!!) and seeing as he had never been to New Orleans, I wanted to make sure he had the full experience. We danced, we ate, we roamed, we explored Magazine Street, the French Quarter, thrift shops, vintage shops, costume shops, normal shops, you name it. All of this built up to the reason we came to NOLA in the first place...
To see Lady Gaga...or as Jeremy refers to her, "Mother Monster."
With a wacky headband/veil on my head, a Michael Jackson sparkly glove on my hand and my favorite little monster on my arm, we headed to the New Orleans Arena. It wasn't a block until we were simply following the outfits/costumes to the show. Honestly, this was one of my favorite parts of the entire weekend -- the Gaga impersonators. INCREDIBLE.
Going into the concert I liked Lady Gaga and loved her crazy fans. I must admit, I now LOVE me some Lady Gaga. She has an incredible voice, never lip syncs and goes full-out like it's the first time she's ever performed. She talks to her audience and fans like it's a room of 20 rather than 20,000 and tells personal stories of her own shortcomings and experiences to help encourage and inspire her fans. She manages to make something so impersonal like an enormous arena into this personal and intimate concert with one of the biggest pop stars of our generation.
Overall, I'm so unbelievably glad I was able to see her live in action and experience such an inspiring concert with one of her BIGGEST little monsters, Jeremy, on his birthday weekend. I can't even explain how much fun it was to watch him watch her. It was an experience I will never forget and I wouldn't have wanted to be there with anyone else!!
