LV Pochette Makeover

We all remember the sorority girl staple, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Pochette Handbag.

Large enough to hold a few 20s, a lip gloss and five bobby pins...and that was about it.

Well now they sell them with these supercute chain straps!

Jealz.

I recently had dinner with some girlfriends and noticed one of the girls wearing her pochette with a long chain strap across her body. LOVE! When I asked her about adorable said chain strap, she said the purse was a friend's.

Well thanks for the inspiration, friend, because I'm making that. As the youngest child of an artist/master of crafts (Karen shoutout!), I headed to Hobby Lobby and Lowe's.

BOOM.

Spending a total of $7.15, I created an entirely different look with the same 'ol LV.  A manly man at Lowe's help me cut 50 inches of chain (when told this was going to be used for a purse makeover...his expression was priceless) and I bought some hooks and gold rings (the rings were to be the middle man between the chain and hook).

I highly recommend this Pochette makeover if you have this sorority girl staple in your closet!
