Miss Piggy is my Soul Sister

With this new Muppets movie coming out (LOVE), I have rekindled my love for Miss Piggy.

I've always loved Miss Piggy, which I know isn't surprising.  She's girly, demanding, bossy, covered with sparkles, pink and feathers and is a MAJOR diva. She's everything I look for in a role model AND she has Kermit by her side to keep her entertained.

Wikipedia says, "She presents a public face which is the essence of feminine charm, but can instantly fly into a violent rage whenever she thinks she has been insulted or thwarted.  Kermit the Frog is often the target of her anger. When she isn't sending him flying through the air, she is often smothering him in (usually unwanted) kisses."

Need I say more?  She just makes me so happy.

This article on People.com reminded me how funny Miss Piggy is and I've been watching countless videos of her on YouTube and laughing by myself.

Don't you love Miss Piggy too?

Meet Lula LaShonda

SO...this weekend my roommate and I rescued a cat. (Now Lula) was in the Cinco de Mayo restaurant parking lot and when I said the "here kitty kitty kitty" ring that I always say to strays (never expecting them to actually come up to me), she came right up to us and purred and rubbed her little head on our hands.

What do we do now? After debating what to do and deciding we needed to help poor Lula, Mary Ellen scooped her up and off we went. After contacting the restaurant and questioning the manager as to whether or not this cat was homeless, he assured me that she had been hanging around for a week or two and was being fed occasionally by an employee who didn't work everyday. Lula needed a home.

Somehow within hours Lula became my responsibility (thanks MaeMae)...and $300 and a weekend later she is litterbox trained, loving her diva-leopard cat bed, up-to-date on her shots and currently being treated for an ear infection.  Unfortunately we live in a small apartment with a dog and I am allergic to cats.  I've called all the vets in the area as well as the animal shelters to let them know I have her in case anyone calls regarding their missing kitty cat.  Lula LaShonda is healthy, friendly and happy and she needs a good home!

Don't let her sass and cattitude fool you...girlfriend loves that holiday collar!

If you or anyone you know might be interested in an indoor or outdoor cat, Lula might be the one for you!  She is a small kitty, only about 8 lbs., and based on her teeth the vet thought she was anywhere between 2-4 years old.  I have all her vet records (since Friday) and am happy to give the litterbox with her as well.

Please help me find her a good home with cat lovers who will appreciate her silky soft fur and belly rubs (yes she likes her belly rubbed like a dog)!!  Email me at:  carriebradshawliedblog@gmail.com if you know anyone in the Mississippi area who is interested.

Greek Dinner

Catalina Su shared this recipe and I knew I had to try it.  I LOVE Greek food (I miss you Volta) and I have never been able to perfect a low-fat Tzatziki sauce.

Organic free-range chicken with olive oil, dill, oregano, season salt and garlic salt, baked for 30 minutes (flipped halfway through) at 350.

Chopped goodness for the tzatziki sauce and veggies.

Make this!!! SO GOOD.  Healthy and so much flavor.  I added some brown rice because I'm a shameless carb-lover.

Tuxedo Blazer

I've had my eye out for the perfect tuxedo blazer and have yet to find one that is both the right price AND the right fit.

REALLY, this Victoria's Secret blazer is everything I'm looking for:

I haven't pulled the trigger just yet only because I'm scanning the racks to see if I can find something cheaper.  Also, I would prefer the blazer to be more winter white than cream.  I can't tell if this is something I'll wear a few times or all the time.

I ordered this GoJane blazer but sent it back...it was cute but cheaply made for the $58 price tag.

Has anyone seen anything like this anywhere?  Get it together Forever21...where are you when I REALLY need you, HUH???

Call me Aunt Kat...Part 2

But what could this mean, you say!?

Indeed, another one in the Williams household is expecting! My brother and his wife. The initial word of this somewhat frightened me, as most of you with brothers are also frightened at a miniature version of your brother gracing this earth...but I was quickly calmed when I remembered this child would also be half of my sister-in-law!! Game changer!  That means there is a chance this baby will believe in air conditioning, not consider the mustache a fashionable accessory or consider herding goat in Italy a fun vacation.

In December I will meet my precious and hopefully-very-baby-diva-ish niece and in March I will meet yet another (more indie/artsy fartsy) baby niece!

I've always envisioned my brother's child to be a little like this:

But you never know...she COULD be like this:

Just kidding...we all know that will never happen...or will it...?

I guess we'll find out in March!

Babies, babies everywhere I go
Spit up on me
And you'll regret it FO SHO.

Consider this a warning.

But Aunt Kat still loves you.

All I Want Out of Life

Photo from Atlantic-Pacific

Is that so much to ask?

This dog just makes me smile! I've flipped through the book in Turn Row Book Co. in Greenwood and I couldn't stop giggling. Boo > CHBoo.

Can you believe CHBoo "doesn't understand" why I would want a small, non-shedding lap dog that doesn't smell and can actually wear little doggy sweaters?

He's all, "I don't understand why you wouldn't want 75 lb, shedding, slobbering, stinky, drooling BIG DOG forever?  Why do people want small dogs?"

Let's not forget the real love of my live, the late Miss Scarlet:

Mother's Day gift that greets Karen in the kitchen.

I came home so I could spend one last weekend with her.

I still think about her all the time!!  I want a pocket pup WAH!  No one tell Bailey that I said this.
