I recently realized that I've only made one pie -- key lime pie (a recipe worth sharing -- delicious!). That's just not right. CHBoo recently devoured a chocolate chip and walnut pie - the first chocolate pie I had ever attempted. Enter the chocolate chip pie, quick and easy with most of the ingredients already in your pantry!
- two eggs
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 refrigerated pie crust/pastry crust
Preheat the oven to 325. Let the refrigerated pie crust warm to room temperature and sprinkle flour on both sides. Place the pie crust in the pie dish, pressing the dough into the dish. Beat eggs well and add sugars and vanilla. Add the melted butter, mix, then add the flour. Mix in the walnuts and chocolate chips and pour the mixture in the the pie crust. Bake for 45 minutes and serve with ice cream (or Blue Bell frozen yogurt - yum!).

That looks amazing! I must make this soon!
ReplyDeleteis it basically like a chocolate chip cookie in a pie shell?
ReplyDeleteIt might sound that way, but it's more fudge-y than a cookie for sure.
