Y’all may have seen some instagrams of my recent quick trip to Chicago.  I traveled for a work trip and had the chance to visit Chicago for the first time during winter – whoa!  I have to admit I was looking forward to experiencing a real winter because it’s been so warm in SoCal this year, and I actually prefer the cold over the heat.  It snowed the whole time we were there and it was so beautiful!  I love the city and its snow and people – lovely all the way around.

Below are some photos I snapped on both my phone and DSLR.  What are some of your favorite things to do in Chicago?

Thanks so much for reading and sharing!!  XO –

  1. I’m always putty when I’m in Chicago’s arms. Such a wonderful and gorgeous city, although I personally don’t think I could handle a winter there! I’m a warm climate raised kid, and might collapse if I’m exposed to winter extremes for an extended period of time! 😉

  2. I went to Chicago in college and absolutely loved it – so much so that I wanted to move there – but the parents nixed that idea!! really loved the deep dish pizza and michigan ave!! Wish RPM was open when I went – but that just means I’ll have to go back 🙂

  3. My mom and I used to take trips out to Chicago all the time and I went to college in Chicagoland. I love that city! In my opinion, the most fun area is Wrigleyville, but obviously Michigan Ave is a must see. Doing some type of high tea in one of the nice hotels is always fun (we used to do them at the Ritz or Four seasons, but I heard high tea at the Drake was also beautiful), and, of course, you have to try Chicago style pizza in Chicago. It’s the only place where it is really good.

  4. you sure make the midwest winters look so charming! sometimes it just feels so frigid but then you see that glorious snowfall!

glad you had a great little trip!

    xo mk

  5. I grew up in Chicago, I now live in the southeast. Those photos you took from the airplane of the ground & snow = instant brrrr. It’s like I can just feel the cold dry air just looking at those photos. Ahh, but a great place to grow up and visit.

  6. That looks amazing! Although I don’t love the cold, I really want to see Chicago in the snow/winter, it looks so beautiful! Also, I am so jealous you went to RPM, was the food really good?

  7. This post makes me smile so big!! #CBL in the Midwest! 🙂 I love that you love Chitown!!! Hope you had a great trip and stayed WARM!! xoxo
